چکیده

This method for the hydrolysis of estrogens completes the automated analysis of estrogens in pregnancy urine described by Muir, Ua Conaill, and Ryan [Steroids 13, 719 (1969)]. Pregnancy urines can be processed from the sampling of urine to the recording of fluorescence intensity in 30 mm, at a rate of 20 samples per hour. The presence of glucose does not de crease the apparent hydrolysis products.

Validity of a simple automated method in which the "direct" Kober reaction is used to measure estrogens during pregnancy.

Using a simple automated procedure for measurement of total estrogens in urine, we found that several estrogen conjugates gave higher fluorescence yields than did the corresponding free steroids. In the analysis of urine samples from pregnant women, the “direct Kober reaction” gave consistently higher values than those obtained after preliminary acid or enzymatic hydrolysis. The effects of stor...

Determination of Genotypes of Streptococcus Agalactiae Isolated from both Urine and Vagina of Pregnant Women Referred to Gynecology Clinics of Yazd, Iran -2015

Background and Aims: Group B streptococcus (GBS) may cause neonatal infection during and or after the delivery, and is the leading cause of sepsis, bacteremia, pneumonia and meningitis. The virulence factors are carried by both capsule and surface proteins by which serotypes and genotypes are determined. However, some genotypes are believed to be related in severity of neonatal diseases, theref...

Serotype Determination of Streptococcus Agalactiae Detected from Vagina and Urine of Pregnant Women in Yazd, Iran-2015

Background and Aims: Group B streptococcus (GBS), is a bacterium that colonize in the vagina and/or rectum of pregnant, as well as non-pregnant women. The frequency of GBS varies in different geographical areas. Capsular serotyping of the bacterium could result in efficient vaccine designation. Serotyping data of GBS in Iranian pregnant women is limited. The aim of this study was to investigate...

Contribution of estriol to total urinary estrogens during pregnancy.

Estriol accounts for an average of 74% of the principal Kober-positive steroids in the urine of 13 women during uncomplicated pregnancies. This proportion is independent of the stage of pregnancy, from 20 weeks until term. The average ratio of estriol to ring-D a#{149}ketols (mainly 16ahydroxyestrone and 16-ketoestradiol-17) is about 5:1 over the same period. In 17 pregnant women with diabetes,...
